I overplanted two crops this year: tomatillos and carrots. The tomatillos are their own story for another day.
I found two seed packets that I wanted to plant – the Parisian Carrot and Rainbow Carrot Blend. I wanted to grow these varieties because they seemed weird and they were not something I could get in the grocery store.

Well, each seed packet has a ton of tiny little carrot seedsand the problem with these little seeds is that I find it difficult to plant one, then space properly, and plant another. I tend to just dump them out in a line. The result of this planting method is that I now have an overabundance of misshapen carrots as some of the carrots bunch together during their formative years or tend to grow into strange mutant shapes (I also failed to do proper thinning).
Are these just odd shaped carrots, ancient Venus/Religous Figures, or something else? You decide… no judgment.
...and in dramatic light...
These two actually grew around each other. Kind of cute, really.
Not all of the carrots turned into strange shapes. Regardless, they all taste better than the grocery store variety.
